I believe art tells stories. Well-designed art can inspire, educate and engage our senses in unique ways. As a young artist I knew I wanted to tell stories, but didn't know exactly where to focus my energy, so I learned to master everything that captured my interests. For over 10 years, I have had the opportunity to discover and implement a library of communication strategies designed to tell stories across a wide range of multimedia.       MLS LEADS Conference

      Montgomery County Government's Management Leadership Service hosts MLS LEADS seminars and programs for employees, supervisors, and managers. I was tasked with designing all creative media used in the venue and for promotion via web and print. The project included multimedia ranging from brochures, banners, infographics, and stationary utilized throughout the venue.

      Wheaton Revitalization Campaign

      As the city of Wheaton undergoes critical infrastructure improvements, I led the Public Information Office in developing a Revitalization art campaign designed to support local businesses in the Wheaton Triangle affected by congestion and construction. Campaign elements included redesigned logo, directory map signage, street banners, event brochures, and collateral.

      Responsible drinking campaign initiative for DLC and MCPD

      I Take it Personally Campaign

      DLC and MCPD partnered together to promote a patron responsibility campaign to encourage safe driving around Montgomery College campuses. I designed and directed the multi-faceted art campaign which included RideOn bus/truck wraps, targeted social media art, and various press events broadcast on County Cable Montgomery.
      This campaign won a NACo award.

      I created custom social media alerts for Public Information Officers to use on behalf of their various departmental beats. This catalogue of evergreen graphics are used to convey critical information to residents. These graphics' use has greatly contributed to Montgomery County's online presence which has improved engagement by an astounding 350% over the last year.



      DHHS Volunteer Drivers Campaign art

      Volunteer Driver Initiative

      When DHHS needed help promoting their Volunteer Driver initiative, I developed an outreach program directed towards faith groups and volunteer organizations to maximize engagement. Primarily fueled by brochures, RideOn bus wraps and bus shelter ads, this outreach generated such a positive response, that we are building out the program further next year to meet the demand.

      2018 MACo Conference Theme

      Last summer, I designed and staged MCDOT's booth theme at the MACo Summer Conference. Our booth was complete with spin-to-win games, photo booth, giveaways, pamphlets, pop up banners, and backdrop. My goal was to communicate "connections" and "forward progress" across all elements while still feeling balanced and clean.

      Call 311 to Get it Done

      Each summer, I develop a fresh way to spread the word about MC311 services to County residents. Last year, I dug through the Public Information Office's analytics to gather some of their most commonly asked question on social media. To those questions whose answer was "Call 3-1-1," I plastered all over RideOn buses throughout the County - visible to over 1.04 million residents.

      We needed a way to help callers understand how MC311 processes questions and forwards requests to appropriate departmental experts. So I designed an engaging, easy-to-understand flowchart meant to both streamline inqueries and manage expectations. This printed on thick, low-gloss paper (which looked amazing) and was distributed to all five Regional Service Centers.

      2018-2019 MCDOT Annual Report

      MCDOT wanted to place a heavy focus on their "Moving Forward Together" theme for their 2018 and 2019 Annual Reports. I created two templates featuring cover art, headers/footers, and detailed pagination that was so thorough, the Strategic Communications Director was able to add the content on her own as it came in over the course of the year - saving time and manpower.

      Build a Better World Reading Program

      The MCPL Summer Read and Learn Program's goal is to make reading fun and accessible for kids over summer break. I designed their 2017 Early Lit and Children's Program with a gameboard incorporated into the reading list. This gameboard helps motivate students to complete a wide range of books while engaging with the theme: "Build a Better World."

      Renter Rights Initiative for DHCA

      Renters Have Rights Campaign

      DHCA is cracking down on landlord/tenant rights in an effort to raise the standard of living in Montgomery County's most vulnerable neighborhoods. As a result of this campaign - which included interior/exterior bus cards, bus shelter ads, doorhangers, and postersm- there was a dramatic rise in reports of tenants living in molded housing or hazardous conditions.
      This campaign was nominated for a NACo award.

      2018 PAFR Design

      Montgomery County PAFR 2018

      Montgomery County sets the standard nation-wide for transparency in government - including on how the $5.6 billion budget is spent. Pulled from the long-form CAFR, the PAFR is a compressed, 16-page overview of the County's financial plan desiged for consumption by residents. I designed this report to maximize readability and favor infographics over words.
      This report won a GFOA award.


      Maryland Smoke Alarm requirement update chart

      Smoke Alarm Matrix

      Maryland's new smoke alarm laws changed requirements for all new residential buildings, and updated standards for older properties as well. To help residents, builders, and inspectors understand the new law, I designed a Matrix featuring a timeline of when the home was constructed, type of alarm required, as well as where it should be installed.

      Marc Elrich First 90 days campaign design

      First 90 Days Financial Plan

      Upon being elected as Montgomery County Executive, Marc Elrich developed a 90-day financial "to-do" list to map out his plan to restructure how the County invests in schools, transportation, and sustainability. He called on me to brand this program and design icons for use when accomplishing initiatives throughout his administration.

      2018 Inaugural Ceremony

      The inauguration ceremony hosted at Strathmore was a complex project which required a variety of venue signage, event programs, security communications, parking/shuttle directions, and pre/post inauguration events. I designed each element of this project to be easily readable by crowds and passing vehicles centered around a unified brand to tie everything together.

      Elder Care Support Campaign

      Montgomery County's senior population is expected to grow to 175,000 by 2020. As older residents transition into their later years, they and their families may be looking for accomodations due to emerging healthcare needs. DHHS tasked me with designing their Elder Care Support Brochure to communicate options for in-home elder caregiving.

      Part one of a nine-module animated series designed to teach real-estate agents how to use Homesnap's Premium features by snapping to view all MLS Data.


      Snow Preparation PSA

      Designed five-part PSA series designed to inform Montgomery County residents on public policy and snow preparedness. As well as what to expect from MCDOT snow removal services.


      Frederick Keys 2011 Championship Season

      In honor of the Frederick Keys' 25th season, I was tasked with creating highlight films featuring championship season footage for use in-game and for TV broadcast.

      Music is a series of altered patterns. The artist creates the pattern to make his audience anticipate a resolution... then holds back. Makes you wait for it. I've found patterns in everything. I have produced hip hop songs for independent record labels, music beds licensed for TV commercials, EDM music for use in video games, as well as promotional radio spots.

      Member of art team tasked wit coding architecture and creative assets for DecisionHealth's Online University and associated web applications for use by home health and hospice experts. Also used Learning Management Systems to create interactive training courses to educate and certify home care professionals in ICD-10, OASIS, and Hospice.

      When United Communications Group asked me to redesign all 22 of their editorial e-newsletters in 2015, I was able to utilize the latest SEO strategies and UX research to increase deliverability rates by more than 10%, and decrease bounce rates to under 1%. Redesign included HTML emails, landing pages, and web applications.

      Coding and maintenence of responsive website for Creative Cricket. Implementing latest SEO and UX techniques to maximize exposure and useability. Built associated YouTube channel to funnel more traffic and generated over 5000 unique subscribers.

      Designed website, splash pages, and store elements branded to promote DecisionHealth's new ICD-10 training conference. Also designed webinar series to provide continued education credits to coders and healthcare professionals leading up to the annual event.
